United States and Canada

When it comes to art, Americans clearly have nothing to envy their neighbors across the Atlantic. Indeed, with five art schools in the top 10 of the world’s top art schools, the United States clearly dominates the QS World University rankings. The Parsons School of Design (3rd position), the Rhode Island School of design (4th position), the MIT (5th position), SAIC – School of the Art Institute in Chicago (9th position) and Pratt Instituteare therefore leading art schools whose reputation has spread far beyond American borders. Other universities such as Art Center College of Design (ranked 13th), Stanford University (14th place) and Carnegie Mellon University (17th) offer excellent theoretical and practical training in art and design.

In Canada, seven art and design universities stand out from their counterparts, including University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto.

In Europe

You don’t necessarily have to go far to find prestigious prestigious art schools. En France, au Royaume-Uni, en Italie, en Suisse ou encore en Espagne, il est possible de bénéficier d’un excellent enseignement dans les domaines de l’art et du design.

Three British art schools are in the top 10 of the QS World University Rankings: the Royal College of Art (in 1st place!), University of the Arts London (2nd place!), and the Glasgow School of Arts (GSA) (8th place).

Elsewhere in Europe, the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands ranks 19th in the world, closely followed by France’s ENSCI (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle) in 24th place.

In Switzerland, the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) ranks 48th in the world, immediately followed by Germany’s University of Künste Berlin (49th).

Step 2 – Find out about the entry requirements for your course. Step 4 – Visit the UCAS to complete your online application before January 15, 2020.

Step 5 – Check your mailbox regularly as well as your spam mail, as the School may contact you by this means to ask you for further information or send you an invitation for an interview. You will then be kept informed of the success of your admission via the UCAS portal. Occasionally, the jury may redirect an application to a college they consider more suited to the student’s profile.
