What are the selection criteria for Ivy League member universities?

The prestigious Ivy League universities cultivate excellence and have trained the country’s elite. Every year, several thousand students apply to these universities,  but on average only 5 to 6% of them are successful.

Here are a few important points to know before you start your registration form:

  • Enhance your social skills : The admission committees of these Leading universities attach particular importance to professional experience the student’s points of interest and its social skillsThese are very revealing of the candidate’s personality. When you write your ur application formbe sure to highlight these elements. At Columbia and all other Ivy League universities, for example, you’ll be asked to include a l iste and a description of all the student’s activities and achievements (« achievements, activities, employment and summer activities »).

    • Lists and descriptions of all student  achievements, activities, employment and summer activities ,
    • « Personal essay »
    • « Columbia-specific questions »
  • School reports
    • Official transcript of all your high school report cards
    • High school counselor recommendation and  school profile 
    • A « completed Mid-Year » Report
  • 2 letters of recommendation from teachers
    • these recommendations must come from teachers of academic disciplines
    • For engineering candidates, one of these must come from a math or science teacher.
  • Supplementary documents to the application files:
    • Supplementary materials
    • Optional interview with an alumnus/a
